The M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust of Vancouver, Wash., has awarded a grant in the amount of $50,000, plus another $50,000 in matching funds, to KCAM Radio to increase staff housing. This grant will help KCAM build a tri-plex, a single-unit house, and to purchase a four-bedroom house to accommodate missionaries and volunteers who come to serve at KCAM.

The construction project is already under way on land owned by KCAM. The original KCAM studio building – built in 1963 – has been moved onto a new foundation and will be renovated into a three-bedroom, two-bath home. The basement will be made into two apartments for short-term volunteers. Several volunteer construction crews from Pennsylvania and Alaska have completed work so far.

The $50,000 matching grant will allow all donations to be doubled through the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust to continue the projects. Checks are payable to “Joy Media Ministries” and may be mailed to PO Box 249, Glennallen, AK 99588. Please designate donations to the KCAM Housing Project. All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged through a return receipt.
